Moss, born on 13th February 1977, is an ex-American player in the field of
football. He was an American footballer who played for 14 seasons within the
National Football League (NFL) as well as with the Minnesota Vikings and
Oakland Raiders as well as the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans. Along
with Jerry Rice, he is often regarded as the best wide receiver ever. He holds
the NFL single-year touchdown record (23 in 2007) as well as the first NFL
single season touchdown record (17 in 1998). He also ranks in the top spot in
the NFL all-time regular season touchdown receptions list , with 156. Moss was
famous for his ability to secure a the contested catch, and "mossed"
is nowadays a football term. Following his football career Moss began his
career as a studio analyst at ESPN for the Sunday NFL Countdown program and
Monday Night Countdown. Moss was born in Rand, West Virginia. Moss was a
student at DuPont High School. This was one of two schools that were later
merged to create Riverside High School. He excelled in basketball, football and
baseball. Randy was also a member of the school's debate team. On the field of
football, Moss led the DuPont Panthers to back-to-back state championships in
1992 and 1993. His star position was wide receiver. But he also played free
safety in punted kickoffs, as well as was the team's punter and kicker. He
received the Kennedy Award for West Virginia Football Player's of the Year in
1994. Parade magazine named him to their All-American high school football team
in 1995, and in 2009, he was named one of the 50 best football players in high
school.
